of Livingston
County...
Livingston County was formed in 1837 from Carroll County. Named after Hon. Edward Livingston, the
11th Secretary of State of the United States under President Andrew Jackson. Livingston borders Grundy County on the North, Linn and Chariton Counties to the East, Carroll County to the South, and Caldwell and Daviess Counties on the West. As one of the counties that makes up Northwest Missouri. It has everything from farmland and pasture to rugged, forested hills. It is populated by about 14,500 residents and lies about 60 miles northeast of Kansas
City.

CAPTION:
The Livingston County bridge crew is currently finishing up demolition on the Livingston County Courthouse's west parking lot and County Clerk Kelly Christopher reports that bids are currently being sought on repaving the lot, which was demolished last fall for the installation of the courthouse's new HVAC and well system. Bids will be opened on April 12 and work will begin soon afterward.
