COUNTY
RECEIVES $62K GRANT
C-T, November 4, 2011
The Missouri Department of Economic Development announced Thursday that
Livingston County has been approved for a $62,270 grant under the
Community Development Block Grant program. The grant is part of $1.9
million in CDBG funding awarded through the 2011 Other Public Needs
Competition.
County officials will utilize the grant for improvements to the
Livingston County Courthouse under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Specifically, the funds will be used to renovate the bathroom facilities
on the first floor.
The CDBG program, administered by the Missouri Department of Economic
Development, provides grants and loan funds to cities with a population
under 50,000 and counties under 200,000 to assist in a variety of public
works and economic development projects.
The other public needs category allows applicants to submit projects that
do not fit under existing categories, allowing applicants to recognize
and solve a need particular to the community. |
